1st July Ewe to You – Hand spinning is the art of twisting fibres or fleece into a continuous thread using a spinning wheel or drop spindle. The thread is spun thick or thin, plied or unplied, and can be dyed or used in its natural state for knitting or weaving. Like many art forms, hand spinning is done in a number of ways and can be developed according to the spinner’s imagination and skill. Come and see for yourself how the experts do it and try your hand.
